Results 2018 CORE Call

The FNR is pleased to communicate it has retained 36 of 137 eligible research projects for funding in the 2018 CORE Call, an FNR commitment of 21.61 MEUR.

CORE is the central funding programme of the FNR, with a prime objective to strengthen the scientific quality of Luxembourg’s public research in strategic priority areas.

In order to identify the most promising and most excellent projects, the FNR submits project proposals to an assessment by independent international experts. Among the 137 eligible project proposals that were submitted, 30 have been selected for funding by our international expert committees, and 6 placed on the waiting list. 106 proposals have been rejected. 14 of the 36 projects are CORE Junior projects (CORE Junior PIs marked with * below). Of the Principal Investigators (PIs) on the funded projects, 8 are female and 28 are male.

The 2019 CORE Call was launched on 12 December 2018. Deadline is Thursday, 11 April 2019, 14:00 CET.
