PROGRAMME SUMMARY

The primary goal of the Knowledge and Innovation Transfer Support (KITS) program is to offer competitive funding to Luxembourg’s public research institutions. This support aims to help these institutions broaden and enhance their existing knowledge and technology transfer endeavors.

Introduced in 2015, the FNR-KITS initiative emerged from the necessity to fortify the universities’ third mission: the transfer of knowledge and technology. As of 2021, the programme had backed over ten projects aligned with the goals of knowledge and technology transfer. These endeavors aim to create substantial social and economic impacts in Luxembourg.

Every public research institution has developed technology transfer offices equipped with the necessary personnel to handle their daily activities. The FNR’s KITS 2024 call seeks to further bolster and enrich ongoing and future endeavours of knowledge and technology transfer that enhance, supplement, or introduce new methodologies within public research organisations.
